Celebrate Being An Australian 2024

Celebrate Being An Australian Awards

Become involved in the 2025 National Council of Women NSW Celebrate Being an Australian Awards.

The Award is to assist and encourage the awardee in her chosen discipline in specific research in a Post-graduate course or in the honours year.

We invite all individual members and Affiliated Organisations to attend and sponsor the awards.

Criteria:

Awardees should be free to attend the NCW NSW Australia Day Luncheon in January 2024 to receive the award in person.

Awardees should be Australian (citizens or permanent residents) women students of achievement, particularly in their postgraduate or late undergraduate years.

Preference should be given to a student who has achieved good grades throughout her course despite being disadvantaged by illness, physical disability, financial need, family circumstances or other hardship.

The Award is to assist deserving students, not necessarily the top student in the course.

The Award is to assist and encourage the awardee in her chosen discipline in specific research in a Post-graduate course or the honours year.

The selection process will be undertaken by the faculty of the participating university or specific body, but will be subject to final approval by the Sponsor and the NCW NSW Awards Committee.

Sponsors are encouraged to nominate a University, Department and Course but may just nominate a field of research.

Jean Arnot Recognition Awards

Nominate a remarkable woman 90 years old and over who has worked for women in their communities across NSW and ACT.

The Executive Committees of both the National Council of Women of NSW Inc. and Business & Professional Women cordially invite you and your colleagues, family and friends to attend the Jean Arnot Recognition Awards.

We invite communities to nominate women in their organisations eligible for a Jean Arnot Recognition Award.

Nominees will be invited to attend a luncheon on the 12th August 2024, at Parliament House, Sydney, where Awardees will be presented with a Certificate of Recognition, a copy of the Profile Booklet and a special gift.

NCW NSW Patron, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, will present the Awardees with their certificates while seated at their table.

For over 30 years, we have come together to recognise women ninety and over in our communities for achieving that extra length of time in their volunteer roles. Each awardee’s nomination comes from their community – they can’t self-nominate.

Nominate or join us to celebrate with these incredible women who have impacted our communities.

To ensure your Nominee’s inclusion in the Profile Booklet of Nominees, all forms must be received no later than 24th July 2024. A short biography is required.

Contact us at enquiries@ncwnsw.org.au for a nominee form.
