A community event celebrating Deep listening is called “dadirri”.
Join us for an Australia Day Community event celebrating Deep listening, also called Dadirri, a word from the Ngan’gikurunggurr and Ngen’giwumirri languages of the Aboriginal people of the Daly River region, 220 kilometres south of Darwin, NT.
NCW NSW members and local residents will get together at our undercover ‘home base’ for Dadirri. The practice of deep listening is an almost spiritual skill based on respect. ‘Dadirri’ is an Aboriginal word meaning ‘inner deep’ listening and quiet still awareness and waiting’.
Stay for a short while or the full event and enjoy morning tea, some music and beautiful park facilities and enjoy moments to be still and silent as you discover the practice of Dadirri.
We will have bush food, an indigenous art display and a reading of historical documents.
We look forward to welcoming you!
